Textile Technlogy


When you take this course will be encouraged to design and make products with creativity and originality, using a range of textiles materials and techniques. Providing you with the opportunity to Design & Make real solutions for real problems. Creativity, critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse design based problems and develop solutions for real clients are some of the necessary skills required. You should also have an interest in creating new and exciting textiles products using a variety of skills and techniques. With great links to further education with A level courses such as Textile & Fashion and careers in a variety of industries such as Pattern Cutting, Tailoring, Printmaking, Machinist, Retail Buyer and Fashion Designer, studying GCSE Textile Technology could be a wise choice for you.

You’ll be enthused and challenged by the range of practical activities and develop your knowledge of fabrics, decorative techniques and textiles environmental issues further. You will be encouraged to use new technologies, processes and investigate new materials.
